Spreadsheet Concepts

• Introduction to the Excel environment & the components available to the user

Working In The Worksheet

• Navigating around the worksheet
• Entering and editing text, numbers and dates
• Selecting cells and ranges
• Cutting, copying and pasting text and numbers
• Inserting and deleting cells, columns and rows
• Adding, deleting and copying sheets

Working With Excel Files

• Saving files
• Opening and closing files

Basic Formulas and Functions

• Creating formulae using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
• Using Excel functions: SUM, COUNT, COUNTA, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX
• Copying formulae and functions

Data Presentation

• Formatting cells
• Formatting text, numbers and dates
• Using the Format Painter

Working with Lists

• Understanding Lists
• Sorting and filtering list data
• Freezing part of the worksheet

Creating Basic Charts

• Creating simple charts
• Changing the chart type and moving charts

Print Options

• Printing worksheets
• Printing charts

On completion of this course, participants will be able to create and print a spreadsheet using basic editing and formatting.

A familiarity with the computer keyboard, Window and Word Processing is desirable.
